Hi,
just wondering if there's anyone on here that would do this, that's based near Cambridge. And hopefully could quote me a rough price on swapping two cars' engines.
Would rather not take it to a garage, if i can save myself a bit of money!
Thanks
Ash

Yeah i already have the engine fitted to my other saxo, but there is too much that needs fixing on it, as it was in a minor accident.
I recently bought a new vts, but i really miss the jp4s and want to get it moved into my new car.
Went to a garage today, and they quoted me £450 to remove two engines, and fit one of them. Is that reasonable amount to pay? I'd still have to have the other engine fitted, which they would charge more for.

Im a little confused with what you want. So do you have
Saxo - Jp4s engine fitted
Saxo - j4 engine fitted
And you want to swap the jp4s into your new car? Were is the 2nd engine fitting?

Do it yourself, save plenty of money! Not the hardest thing, biggest buy is renting a hoist for 1 day lol

arguably, yes.
Is the engine in question a JP4 or JP4s?

It's a JP4s, and it's had qutie a bit of work done to it. It's alot quicker than the j4 i have at the moment, in my new car.

Yes. I'll sell the second engine, as i won't need it. And then break the rest of the car.
As the jp4s is already fitted to a saxo, it should be straight forward to swap into another saxo shouldn't it?

You can do it yourself buddy, it's easy :y:
Need a engine crane (hoist) and need a couple of people to help with positioning etc.
Give us a PM if you need any help? I've swapped my engine out of my VTS countless times now.
I easily know how to swap the engines over :y:

I thought thats what you ment but you said the garage want £450 but you will have to pay for more afterwards?
If its been converted to go into a saxo already then yea it will be a straight swap :y:

As above. Engine crane and a mate and you'll have them swapped in an hour or so. Whilst its out though, good opportunity to do a cambelt change if its close to service time. Lots easier with the engine out the car obviously!

I may take you up on that offer! How much would you charge?
I'm probably not going to get round to it for about a month or so. Will probably do it mid april.
Also if i can do it on my own driveway, it means i can start breaking the car earlier lol

Yeah it'd be stupid not to, as i even have a brand new cambelt in the boot lol.
