just wondering whats the score with these manifolds on ebay, they are pretty cheap and im guessing the only different between one of these and say a piper would be the quality but is there anyone on here who has had one?

I bought the manifold you have in the link a couple of months ago.
I had to get it changed back because my MOT this week and I have noticed a bit of difference when going past 4000 rpm.
It seems to be okay since I have had it so it wouldn't be a bad purchase.

Thats not an 'ebay manifold' its a toyosport, they just have an Ebay store.
Its a decent bit of kit. You will get a decent midrange gain from it and throttle response is improved to.
I have one thats done 40K now, no cracks, no holes blown into it and the weld seemed pretty good on it. Its cheap as they sell loads of them and it wasnt 'designed' as such, they used a design already developed by scorpion *i think* There is a mild steel manifold you could buy early 2000s that is the same design.
Ive had a raceland and a supersprint, and though the supersprint was slightly better built, you really cant argue with this, simply for the price, you could buy 3 of these for the price of a S/S

Yeah I would recommend it.
No point paying a fortune for a i.e. Supersprint mani for no noticeable difference.
Nicer noise as well from the exhaust system depending on what you have.

i agree, cant really justify spending loads on a manifold, got a sportex system with a sportex mani atm but after a saxsport

you get some people with slightly bigger budgets buying supersprints or pipers and justify them but being honest, on a VTR engine the gains arent worth the extra cost, this mani will do exactly what the others will do.
And, if you keep the receipt they are pretty decent when it comes to customer service.

if you are getting a toyorsport one for a mk2 then there are 2 types the one in link which is a sportex copy and the other is the one matt has on his sport cat centre section which imo is the proper 4-1 version which is the one I would have if I needed one.
Obv got the mk1 toyosport one which is the raceland one but otherwise quite a few designs out now

sportex copy! thats the one. And, i have the 4/2/1 version as shown in the link, ran with a supersprint. i have a couple different ones tbf.
It actually does sound the tits, but i would imagine its because of the back box.

Its the one you have linked.
It will fit phase 2. It misses the oil filter, has two sensor holes and will bolt to the midpipe on the standard fitment.
