Basically i havea 106 xs which is same as a vtr.
Its a 98 the heasgasket and other things went and the loom had a toad alarm bodged in so i swapped in a gti 98 interior loom and engine i had spare, i am now swapping back to a vtr engine but want to keep my gti interior loom.

So the question is which engine loom do i use?the xs one? Or do i need to buy another engine loom? Also the new vtr engine has a coilpack at the plug not on the mount does this matter? Or do they do single plug and 3 plug of that style?

Edit: is that better? Will I get an actual answer now? Was on my tablet this morning which won't let me do line breaks on forums.

Why are you going from VTS 16V to VTR 8v?

And what is wrong with you?

Because 8v > 16v. The 8v going in is in the process of being turboed and the 16v engine has always been planned to go into my rallye.

Not sure on the logic of wasting money on an 8v tbh. :( Each to their own!

The 8v will give me what i want and is cheaper to work with and cheaper to insure for me turboed.

I have my reasons and the 8v fills my needs perfectly.

I have everything to throttle body my 16v so didn't see the point in turboing that then having to rebuy everything to body an 8v.

Any ideas on the loom?

You have a 106 interior loom.

Use the XS loom and fit the side mount coil pack to your VTR engine.

Easy :y:
