Simple answer is there are no straight fit engines, but with enough money, time, skills and tools you should be able to fit any 2l 8v engine

Is there a limit on the valves then been as your only after a 8 valve engine?

Ive seen xus fitted
Could go for a 1.9 gti 8v and carb it up
But its not a straight fit
And its an old engine so finding a good one will be hard

What sort of racing do you do, and is it mostly long and straight or short and twisty? Which gearbox are you currently using? If its the VTR box they are dog awful for acceleration yet can make such a difference using a Fd from XSi.

What is your budget? You could keep the vtr lump and get some decent gains on bike carbs if setup well

The gearbox is a xsi with the diff welded and I race oval tracks shale and mud if I decide to keep the vtr bottom end what head can I putt on it what will run a old type dizzy was guna use vtr head an make a loom for ecu an coil pack butt only problem in that is injection is not allowed is they any way I can blank the injector hole up an use my axgt inlet with 38 dgas granada carb jetted to suit the 1600
