Hey, I've converted to the older style coilpack at side of engine. Was running fine but now have this issue, can unplug both ht leads for cylinder 2 and 3 and doesn't make any difference. It is making a spark however but is it most likely the coilpack?

Just wondering if the coilpack fires both cylinders when it reaches tdc and if so would that be 1 & 4 and 2 & 3? Can't remember if that's right or not?

Diagnostic machine it pal then go from there. I had a missfire that turned out to be the injectors. Only found out after spending 200 quid on everythin else first.

If its sparking its most likely your injectors.
Give them a blast with some carb cleaner and failing that buy a 2nd hand rail off ebay that comes with injectors. Cheaper than buying new 1s. £50 at cost each around my area.

Diagnos it first though pal

So you're getting sparks to all cylinders?

Yeah getting spark to all four, I'll have a see whether the injectors are working.

Sounds like possibly injector loom as you've dropped a firing pair

What I'll do is swop the injectors round and spray connector spray on it. Could be as I was driving it and was fine then it started to have a loss of power, pulled over and was having a look and suddenly it sounded fine again so got in car back to power so drove it again and then loss power again.

It's standard injectors at minute but I have messed about with them.

Looks like it's injectors, swapped them about and now it's not firing on 1 and 4.

Very odd that two would go at same time

Not impossible like

I put it all back together and it fired into life, removed one ht at a time and was fine so thought I'd fixed it. Then I tried it after a couple mins and would die everytime I took the ht lead off the 2 or 3rd cylinder. Instead of 1 and 2 before I did it. Maybe just shite fuel in the injectors. Will put more fuel and redex in the tank, I've got a different rail and injectors from a rallye I think but I need to change the fpr cos it was overfueling on that rail. I might hook it up and see if it runs with them.
