VTS wont go above 2k revs

Coming home from work today my VTS started dying:( gets to about 2Krevs then nothing more just splutters and wants to stall, out of gear it revs up and down the range happily. (I have disconnected my supercharger so this is not the issue)

Ideas please.

When my cat was blocked this happened to me got it gutted out or decatted and it solved it!
