Exhaust centre sections

I plan to get a BTB style centre section made up using one complete pipe from manifold to back box replacing the cat with a silencer.

Can any one see any problems with this setup?

I thought this was the best option.

i cant see any problems with it mate! id skip the centre box where the cat should be though. most zaust systems have de-cat pipes but tend to leave a centre box in cause as you may know it helps torque figures. i think another centre box is a bit too much

I was only planning on having the one box (silencer) where the cat was to aid back pressure and not bother with the centre section.

the most important box is the first box, on a saxo thats the cat. so a silencer in place where the cat would be should be best.

BTB is a bigger bore than a normal backbox. If your using a standard sized bore backbox there will be no point

So I might aswell just run a straigh through pipe from manifold to back box?

exactly mate. i had a straight through on my vtr and i know i didnt have as much torque as when i had just a de-cat and left the centre box in. so at the minute iv just got the standard vts centre section and a decat and it pulls nicely in the low down revs now!

but to avoid the join from de-cat to centre you can whack a mk2 vtr centre section in there as they are a direct fit from manifold to backbox! i was gonna do this and actually got round to ordering one from a breakers for 35 quid posted but the sent me a fukin mk1 and wouldnt take it back so im stuck with a spare vts centre section now!
