ooppss ..... where does it go???

I recently rebuilt the top end of my engine due to a crap job done by my local garage that they totally screwed up. Put it all back together with no probs and it runs perfect but .......... i now have a plug which has nowhere to go. On the alternator i have put back on the wires with the o rings but there is one plug dangaling next to it with nowhere to go. Its got a green end and the wire is only short so it must go nearby.... ne one got any suggestions of what it can be.
Please dont ask for pics cause i cant put any on, i cant even view any that other chaps put on.

its the lamda sensor plug me thinks there should be another end thats green that it fits into next to the rocker cover or in that area,

take a pic or it if u can tho
