View Full Version : FPR problem and fuel lines

Had a problem with the fpr on the rail of my 16v engine

When on the rail, it was taking fuel straight through it, out the end up into my inlet via the vacuum pipe!
Swapped it and it did the same.

Put my 8v one on there and it's fine! Is this right? My guess is no!

I've replaced fuel lines and gone simple, pump to filter, filter to rail, and rail back to pump, is this right?

Also, on top of the tank, can't see to easily but there's a pipe that comes out of something and links to something else, which I've left, and one that comes from one of these places and now goes nowhere, nothing came out so I've blocked it.

This is fine I'm assuming it was a breather for the original FPR or something?

Any advice? Done an oil change and it runs okay I guess, just hope there's no damage!

8v FPR is 3.5 bar
16v is 3 bar

I tried using the 3.5 bar FPR just made it massively overfuel.


If the pipe you are talking about was attached to the original FPR housing.
Then it is a vacum pipe, which i have also blocked off.

Ideal, so I've blocked that correctly.
Ideally you'd recommend getting the correct reg then?

I'm running the 3.5 ATM, and it runs okay, but I don't know if its bad or not as ive just put it in.

Also running newman PH3s unmapped as yet.

What I don't understand is why BOTH of my 3.0 bar regs were throwing fuel straight up the vacuum on the end up into the inlet! It was flowing straight through :/ this can't be normal? Both off 16v fuel rails, different engines from different people!

Nah no pic, though the vacuum pipe on the 3.5 is tiny, the one on the 3.0 is massive, and just dumped fuel everywhere.

Along with a faulty ECU, and a few faults, i'm fighting a losing battle!

Can't find a three plug unlocked ecu anywhere, Nor someone that will unlock mine!

Last thing i want is to get one the same as my other 2 :/

it sounds like your 3 bar items may not be FPR's at all, possibly FSE boost valve takeoffs for a remote FPR.

I will dig a pic out, but its just a grubby looking 3 bar FPR with a vac takeoff on it !

tenner posted should sort it, post is expensive these days!

2 of them, from different engines, from different people / cars..

Very Very odd but hopefully not caused any lasting damage after filling my cylinders and inlet with petrol!

Even when i turn the ignition on, it was just pouring through it with the vac pipe off!

I guess i'll be better running the correct one, can you get a pic just so i know / can compare?
