Hello
Fitting a 2001 Bosch pump from a 51 plate 1.5d saxo.
The bosch pump has the following visible electronic stuff:
- black plastic cover in between injector pipe connectors
- black cable running into/ behind security cover
- blue socket electric conector
- black socket electric connector
Here is the challenge: can anyone let us all know what each thing listed above does? I think the black wire running behind security plate is the stop-start solenoid because it clicks.
The reason I ask is I am fitting one and it is not as simple as plug in and go.
It is being fitted to an older pug 106 which had a lucas, but this Bosch one from the saxo was the only available one in scrap yard.
Progress so far:
-pump on car, timing belt on/ timed up
-injector pipes connected but left loose at injectors to bleed
-security cover off (took 2 and a half hours, and if anyone needs to know how send me a request)
-connected my 12v feed to the (I think because its making a click noise) stop solenoid which was under the security cover.
-cranked engine after bleeding the fuel line....no fuel exiting the pump AT ALL.
Hence I am trying to figure out what these other electronics are...
Just to be clear, this is my first post, but in return for sharing what these electronics are, I'll put together a simple guide on how I did the conversion. May be of no use to the majority as you probably have petrols, but for those needing access whats underneath security cover I can maybe help you get it off.
Looking forward to it,
Betsy
