View Full Version : Vts - what looks like an oil breather?

Alreeeet.

Seems there is oil leaking out of my engine and spraying everywhere.

I think I've found the cause...

There is a plastic connector on the right side of the engine (under the air filter) the goes underneath where the cams are. I had a fiddle and it just pulls out without any effort and moves around...

Pipe seems to lead back to where the dipstick is at the front (2000 mk2 vts without that weird black cap at the front)

I shouldn't just be able to pull this out so easily, should I?

Answers please?

Mine was a loose fit too.
I just took it off and bent the bracket a bit so it held it in better then used some sealant for good measure.

Any advice on sealant?

Would need to be temp resistant?

Some silicone sealant from a motor factors should do.

Or some ptfe tape around the pipe so it goes in for a more snug fit mate(just a thought)
