1.4 box for what car exactly? Cause I was under the impression 1.4 boxes are shit (I used to own a 1.4 furio) unless its the 1.4 xsi box?

there ratios are better for acceleration, but they cant handle much power, and top end crap too,

Saxo 1.4 boxes are piss poor for acceleration. The only 1.4 box to go for is a 1.4 XSi box but expect to pay a bit of a premium nowadays, ones in good condition are getting few and far between

The 1.4 box is no weaker or stronger than any other box, its the same as a diesel box and apart from the slightly, slightly shorter ratio 1st and 2nd, the same as a VTR box.
It will make such little difference its not worth the hassle imo. The car feels quick as it probably is quick. If its miles ahead of your GTI/VTS i suggest that instead of looking at box's you service it and figure out why your down on power.
