OK I'm banging my head against a brick wall
Brandnew build
Block and head skimmed true
MLS gasket
ARP studs
All torqued correct
block brought up to temp and re-torqued as per
Issues are
1 Oil pressure hitting +6bar if revved past 2/3k on startup and 5.5bar at idle, once warm (80+deg) drops to 2.5 bar at idle ( measurement taken from oil pressure switch port on front of block )
2 took car for a steady drive no more than 3500rpm came back and ive got LOTS of mayo in covers, took them off and the oil is defo contaminated with water.. coolant got no higher than 84 deg the whole time with an 80 deg thermostat
?????
no other leaks anywhere ( apart from a drip on sump, not got a good seal )

std oil pressure is 4bar (60psi) at 4k when hot --yours sounds normal
does engine has vts heat exchanger behind oil filter ?
maybe its leaking water into oil system --i have seen this before
more than once-but usually its oil going into water --not water 9nto oil system --head gasket right way up ?

No heat exchanger remote cooler
Head gasket correct
Top reads top and is at front as should be
It's got me baffled can only think the worst
Done a very conservative map for run in and didn't rev over 3500/4k
Only drove about 5 miles in total
Didn't see anything untoward while drive a/f was around 13 to 14 on wb
Egt never got above 450degC
No WOT driving no more than 50%
Got back and saw steam coming from catch can
Checked and found lots of Mayo and water condensation in covers and in cam galley
Checked dipstick has milky oil
Checked plugs n pistons all good
Checked in rad looks to have oil floating
So there defo seems to be a 2 way exchange
Pissed off

so decided to give it another run tonight for shits n giggles as i have decided im gonna break it cos i cant be bothered any more
no mayo, oil clearing up and coolant is clear and blue as should be??????
did some mapping on the road and it pulls like a train, with no issues at all, no smoke steam or anymore mayo
after an hour of driving, smooth as can be, temps all expected and normal oil pressure still a little high but am using 10w40 oil but as it hits around 85deg its way better
baffled

arp head studs --what torque did you do head bolts to ?
as they are not strech bolts you wil need to retighten now anyway after running
is turbo water cooled? could be a crak inturbo allowing water + oil to mix

20, the 40, then 60 then loosen and retorque to 60flbs as per, used correct lube, brought engine to full temp, let cool and loosened and retorqued to 60flbs again
its not a turbo mate its itb's

When I built the engine the night I did the head it was late and getting dark and I fit it wrong way round, sorted that but it's ended up being crushes already in a spot that mean there's a cross where the oil pushed on a blocked galley
Still parting it haven't got time for it anymore and ideally need a different car for new baby
