Unfornrtunately my gearbox and clutch have both gone over the weekend, ii have been told my gearbox is a three lever type box (is this correct?)

I have bought a second hand box (which is also 3 lever)

But the guy i've bought it off has said to get the mechanic to check my old 1 before i take it out....

But if i can find out now if my broken box is 3 lever than i can start looking elsewhere if it isn't!

Doesn't make much sense that message

Baiscally...

I have been told my gearbox is a three lever type box

I have found a box which is also 3 lever

But the guy who told me that my BROKEN box is a three lever, has said to get the mechanic to double check it is three lever before i take it out...

But i could be on a wildgoose chase, i could do with knowing now wether or not my box is 3 lever....

and if it isn't i can start looking for another, need help quick guys car is going to garage tomorrow ready for friday!

all saxo gearboxs are 3 leaver or 3 linkage, plus how does he know your gearbox is ferked before he takes it out?

It is fooked mate, Leaking oil everywhere, no drive, it sounds like everything has collapsed inside!

I'm going to struggle to drag its arse to the garage as the clutch has also gone....

So whatever box i get, as long as its from a saxo it will fit?

Sorry to be a pain fella, only had the car a month

Cheers for the input guys, put my mind at rest!

all boxs are just as strong as each other, if yours is a vts get a vts, the only difference between then is the final drives so one will accelerate more than the other.

ps. id be concerned if a garage wasnt sure on what type of box based on the selectors.

it wasn't the garage what said that Ratty, it was the fella at the breakers yard
