Iron block, heavy front end. Pain in the arse fitting the BE box, then odd welded shafts etc.
waste of time when you can simply turbo the 1.6 16v
for the sake of 400cc.

As it happens the tu5 is a heavy old bugger so the xu10 isnt actually that much heavier, but the bay is the wrong shape for it.

For shits and gigs go for it,if you've got the cash, patience and resources then why not.
For me personally I'd go down the turbo route with the 1.6 engine.

personally its one of those questions, if you have to ask 'how much' or 'how easy' you either don't have the money, or don't have the skills.

Has been done, 2.0 16v with Subaru turbo. The guy doesn't know how fast it is because it goes around the speedo and back to nought. Needs some fiddling to fit the turbo and the box + air intakes.

thats an 8 valve turbo 406 engine, 150 bhp stock, bit of a boring breathless boat anchor tbh, was designed as a bargle lugger not a performance engine, hence the CT badging in citroen's, (constant torque) they run out of puff before 6k.

It's possible, but why not use a better package full stop?
