Hi
Wasnt sure which section to put this under but I think this one will do!
Im just searching on the bay and Gumtree for any bargain Saxos going and came across a MK2 for very cheap so I clicked on it.
Looking through the pics, it looks like it has a MK1 engine in it, looking at the throttle body and air box etc? Can anyone confirm or help me out as I'm definitely sure that Mk2 throttle body and air box doesn't look anything like this one!

Yeah buddy that's a mk1 single plug silver top engine, either had a swap or it's one of the 1999/2000 cross over one, you can tell by wheee the dipstick it, he ecu, the inlet and bt like you said, and there's no lambada sensor in the top of the exhaust mani meaning the cats under the car.

I never knew they made a Mk2 Saxo with a Mk1 engine?! I want the Mk2 engine for the extra few horses!

If you plan you mod it your better off with that engine, as exhaust manifolds are straight fit to them no messing about changing the oil filter and tapping thread into the block, also rallye cams ect it these as far as I know so is Easter to tune and once you have done some breathing mods there's nothing really in it that your gonna notice on the road

Ok cheers! Are there any drawbacks though? Like are parts harder to get etc? Or will all Mk2 parts fit as well?
