Just toying with all the different engine combinations....

Phase 2 VTR bottom end - 16valve head (been covered on separate thread)
Phase 2 VTR bottom end - black top rallye non roller rocker head
J4 VTS/GTI 16valve bottom end - Phase 2 VTR roller rocker head

As said I've covered the top one but what about the other two what would need to be done and what advantages or disadvantages would there be to just tuning my Phase 2 VTR engine in standard form?

I've heard of all of the above swaps being done but I want to know what they are gaining from them....

Cheers Kieren

Why would you want the bottom option? Granted it's got slightly higher comp pistons but that's it- mild cam etc.
The rallye head option is a good combo if you want to stay 8v.
Basically lose the roller rockers for performance based stuff

The roller rockers do seem to be a down fall as they only are reliable till about 7k I think I've read but then most cams only have a power band up till 7k so shouldn't be to bad with a decent not to Lairy cam, are the sensors on the bottom end of a 16valve the same as a 8valve?

And as for the 1.3 rallye head on my phase2 vtr block would would I need I understand the port spacing is different ? so I'd need a rallye inlet
