A work colleague told me if I reset my ecu afterI put the new stainless steel cat, exhaust and new lambda sensor it will run a lot smoother and quicker after a few miles. Is this true?

No hes talking bullshit. also if you run your ctr with no cat on it your ecu will adjust and run lean. Its advised the first mod to do is get the hondata k100 before anything on a ctr.

Ok that sounds good now I don't have to fiddle about with it but my new exhaust is going on tomorrow with a sump plug on the cat til my oxygen sensor arrives. The one I got now is shagged and the cars running lumpy. Engine sounds a bit noisey too so not sure if my tappets need adjusting too?
