Will a 106 rallye inlet manifold, throttle body etc fit onto my 51 plate vtr? Its a 3 plug, silver top? Im going to be fitting a 4-2-1 mani and straight through pipe with newman ph3 cams soon so wanting to fit a better inlet system.
Will it go on??

To elaborate on what Bedford has said.
The port spacing on the early engines is different compared to the later head.

The port spacing on the 16v heads regardless of year are the same, it's the 8v early and late that have different spacings

Yes and as it OP is discussing 8V I thought it prudent not to bother mentioning 16v

I see, I wanted to fit one to my old VTR back in the day but was told they weren't worth the effort, this was like 10 yrs ago now haha.

I've got a 106 inlet mani on my furio and totally not worth the effort in my opinion. Won't idle worth a damn now, had to convert to ht leads and extend wiring and other things. The conversion wasn't difficult but even with an idle control valve fitted to the side of the inlet it will not idle so I've blanked up the ICV and just have a tight throttle to keep it open slightly. It now idles from 600-1200 rpm.
