Looking to change my gearbox oil tomorrow for the first time, I've being doing a bit of research and it does look simple so I just need some clarification.
Is this correct:
- Take my car a run for 5 minutes to get the oil warmed up a bit
- Put the car on axel stands
- Take off the plastic shield underneath the car
- Undo the bolt / screw at the bottom of the gearbox (Let it drain for up to 5 minutes - Obviously into a bucket)
- Once it's drained screw the bolt back on then unscrew the one further up to re-fill it
:y: :n:
Thanks

yeah sound pretty much right to me, fill gearbox up till oil starts to over flow a little bit

Thanks mate :y:
Would rather do that than spend more taking it to a garage to get it done.

Yeah I'm going to from now on, bit of experience for future cars and works out cheaper.

Ive never taken my car to a garage I do it all myself, even the clutch and brakes just read from a haynes manual and get overlooked by my dads mate who is a mechanic, but all sounds okay although I didnt have a plastic tray underneath, good luck and be safe though fella.

It can be a bit of an arse filling up, I used the breather on the top of the box.

Just to put it out there, but if the drive shafts are relatively new, wouldn't the oil be new too?
