Anyone know where I Can get a lower temp thermostat for a 2002 VTS?

You dont need one, standard is nigh on the perfect temperature for these engines to work properly.

There is a gti6 one i believe that is 82 degrees...

My engine seems to heat up very quick when stationary. After a steady drive when manovering into a parking space it sets the fan off straight away. Is this normal on this engine.
I will look into the GTI6 on. Is it a straight swap?

Cheers.

that's what the thermostat is meant to do, aid warmup then the fan regulates the temperature if the car isn't moving, as soon as you start driving the thermostat will regulate the temperature as long as the radiator isn't buggered.

Ok thanks for everyones input. Its just annoying everytime I turn the engine off and the fan is left running for a couple of mins.

Has it been bled properly? Never had any issues with the standard thermostat myself with engine getting too hot etc. (VTS).

Standard stat should be perfect in all circumstances. Have you flushed the radiator at all?
