ive got a saxo VTS n im just wonderin if its cam'd cos its quite quick compared 2 most others, is there any obvious way of telling? mabee a performance cam has a lug or something a standard 1 doesnt? cheers in advance, Ben

as you've already noticed that its apparently quicker than other vts's, the only stop the specualtion and know for sure would be to rolling road it dude. that'd tell you for definate :Y:

Most cams will have the profile number on the side. Its unlikely that it is camm'd, it'd idle like a bag of wank if it was.

Post up the graph you have and we'll be able to tell by where it peeks

would it still idle wank if it was re-mapped though?

no it wouldnt idle wank if r mapeed properly

Im pretty sure though that even re-mapped you would have a different sound when idling to a std VTS, because ppl noticed my VTR was on idle, but you should notice its far quicker than std vts because when I went in me mates 106 gti which is about 158bhp it felt like a rocket compared to mine. He is a good driver thought that may have summat to do wid it

True, though most Cam'd VTS's are on dasteks or standalone if mapped at all, if its on a standard ECU its unlikely its been done

wouldnt it say on the cam itself somewere

you've already said in another thread you've had it r/roaded at 153@fly, you aren't hitting that on standard cam.

you can get it to idle fine without a remap, take mine for example.
kent and pipers have their part numbers on the end of the cam where the pulley is. catcams have it on the other end.

did i sell you a dastek soemtime in the last year? on ebay?

im sure i reconise your msn addy.

There was the 120 bhp vts and suppose to be some 130 bhp 1’z in the mk2 but not declared as that. So yours could be the 130 one but like some one mentioned you wont no for sure unless you rolling road it.

yeh i bought it on ebay in march but it fucked up about a month later so its standard ecu agen, it runs a bit lumpy but its not that bad, i was told the idle on a saxo vts is a bit shit anyway sometimes ill be sitting at the lights n itll go to stall then pick up again

looking at the graph the car is quoting standard figs e.g. 120 and 110 torque, so its standard. Like most operators they quote wheel but mean fly, as if it was 120 at the wheels id expect alot more in the torque and more mods so its all std.

williamsvts
11th September 2006, 17:01
as ratty said, that just looks standard.

it makes the power a bit low in the revs to be cammed. have a look at them.

Ratty
12th September 2006, 07:51
its standard mate, proof is in the graph, if you want to go round and sound good to your mates in your standard car thats fine, but the truth is, its standard.

CampDavid
