I am going to hopefully get my dads vtr (52plate) and going to fit a few mods and wondering what BHP I might see.
mods will be
enclosed induction kit,4-2-1toyosport manifold, saxsport 2" race exhaust and newman PH3 cams.

I have money saved up for parts and already have some but if i got a vts i would buy the parts aswell
And the price of petrol , insurance and tax on apprenticeship wages wouldn't work .

Be a bad man and swap the engine for a 16v without telling your insurance

insuring modded vtr costs more than stock vts I'd bet, tax no different on most.

might see a 115-120 bhp from an 8v with those mods?
Worth it? Nope.

I would mod a vts aswell if i got it and the fact my dad has a vtr with 32000 miles on it means i want to take that as he will take my 1.1

Yeah take the vtr off him, put a 16v lump in it for a fraction of the cost of what you wanna do, enjoy that for a while then save up for a set of cams etc?

I dont speed all i really want is good acceleration to get me out of corners and keep a good constant speed so honestly a vts would be wasted

Do what you said mate you should see a decent increase in acceleration! Can't comment on BHP.

1.1 gearbox would make it rapid , along with my quickshift

1.1 box does make it better but in my experience, doesn't last too long :P

VTS box>1.1 box

Rallye box > VTS box >1.1 box iirc.
