saxo furio to vtr conversion

my 1.4 furio headgasket has gone so i have decided to put a vtr engine in has anyone done this conversion i hurd somewhere that it is a straight swap aslong as i get a vtr 3 plug loom as mine is 3 plug also can i use my 1.4, will my exhaust manifold fit, any help would be much appreciated i know il need to get the ecu coded or unlocked

This. If you're going to the effort of fitting a bigger engine why go for the lower powered one?

Yeah if he's going to spend the money he might as well get the 16V

i dont wanna put the 16v in as i still want a economical car im not looking for power i either want to replace the 1.4 engine or put a vtr in if its easy to swap over, although im now thinking bout trying that steel seal stuff see if it cures my head gasket

A 1.6 16v is hardly heavy on fuel...

An 8v can be had for next to nothing though. 16v is a few more quid.

surely a 16v is going to be more complicated to wire up etc if anyone can tell it is easy ill consider it
