My rocker cover is seriously losing oil through the faulty gasket.

Just want to know whether its worth the JP4 rocker cover upgrade so I can change the rubber gasket when necessary......

OR

Do I go for a sealant on the existing one and grind the lugs off? Would a dremel get them ground off ok?

Notice there is a smaller leak on failed gasket around the head. Can the JP4 be used in place of existing JP here as well?

Do not grind the lugs off yourself, you'll never get them flat and still won't guarantee a decent seal.
When I had mine I had them both professionally skimmed at a local engineering company, they did it whilst I waited and only charged £10. I doubt whether price would have gone up much. At least then it only needs the smallest smear of sealant to make a perfect seal

no rockers on the 16v engine.

yes the JP4 covers are a good idea, replaceable seals and better breathing.

Cheers Willsy & Welshpug for that. Guessed the cover would need a bit more precision on the lugs but you never know. I guess a wet gasket is my easiest option.

JP4 covers are a straight swap including bolts aren't they? Best to go new or maybe an odd used one on Fleabay?

Better to go to a breakers, less scene tax.
