Anyone done the same? Found an old thread but not any fitting instructions, only wiring advice. Will try and get some snaps step-by-step when I convert mine.
Might seem ridiculous, but car is doing alot of miles and not one road around here is without roadworks, so the extra fan may help in keeping the engine cooler. If anything, its a step towards my 16v conversion & looks provocative for the meantime.
Is it simply modify old fan wiring to run this or put the extra one on a switch?
Bought these ready wired, missing the fuse currently. (will pinch out of single fan)

If I remember right all I did was splice the positive and negative on the second fan with the first one so they came on at the same time.

I think the old owner did that, all works ok off the old wiring?

Mine does yes. Can't see why it wouldn't with yours although I'm not that savvy with this sort of thing.

just get the full loom from an appropriate age saxo and it will plug straight in and work.
16v only had one fan though unless it has ac, there's no need for two.
I have 200 bhp zx with one fan.

Too cool is bad!
Just make sure that rad is in good condition, fresh coolant and fully bled!

Can I ask the op his reasoning behind fitting 2 fans to a 1.1 saxo?

Just for looks I imagine. Only reason why I've done it to my VTR is because it suits the widemouth bumper I've got on.

I've dine this mate and I didn't notice any difference in cooling, I'm going to wire one of of em normally and other one on a switch in the car for hot days , when I've been ragging it or stuck in traffic.

waste of time and money --1.1 don,t make enough power to need twin fans --EVER

My radiator has seen better days, and been advised to swap to the larger VTR/VTS rad before fitting for clearance, and its really not worth bodging together/that much effort. I fitted a smoothed widemouth to my 1.1 and wanted the fans out the front, but not worth the hassle. Weights not an issue, this isn't a race car. Il just sell them and move onto other things.

And probably costs half of the engines output to run the additional fan :p

Honestly made absolutely no difference to my vtr. Imo it's for looks or you have a high powers engine u need two fans for. Don't get me wrong I get why ya doing. All so wire it up properly don't use the same power line for both fans, they both don't work as well and you'll start to have loads of fuse issues ext.

My fan won't come on at all? If I bridge the pins in the plug it will spool but won't come on by itself when the car gets to temperature. I've replaced the sensor on the radiator itself and I've a coolant temperature sensor (beside the thermostat) coming in the post.
Any ideas? My temp gauge still works fine which makes me think the sensor that I have coming in the post already functions correctly.
sorry for the thread hijack.
