So i know this has come up soo many times before, but i've got so many different answers and variations that i'm more confused than before.

We have a 2001 Saxo VTS with a 3-plug ecu and engine.
We want a 1998 106 gti which has an omex ecu, we want the engine from the car with it's ecu.

What is required for this swap?

A few hours sat down buzzing the wires through with a tester and a lot of patience.

Don't think it will matter as you need a custom loom to fit an omex ecu.

I have an Omex plug on our std single plug loom.
And recently converted a 106 tripleplug to an Omex .

temp gauge never works correctly fitting stand alone to 3plug loom +dash + ecu light will be on
much better make custom loom or fit a predator plug +play
if doing complete swop then use old dash and wiring complete -then no problems

We've had this discussion before John I think (might have been with Wayne) - I've done Omex into 3-plug loom twice now and the temp gauge worked fine both times. Worked fine on Titch's 3 plug too. Didn't do anything special, just took the (blue?) wire from the omex loom and spliced to correct wire for clocks. Just "worked".

i found it very jumpy not equal readings as it goes up
cos it works not on justby varying voltage but by a varying a frequency as well --maybe the omex is not as sensitive to these things which is why i,m not a an omex fan
found it showed cold --for a long time --then middle and then a big temp dif before it showed hot -- don,t like that
