Hey guys.

My rallye's temp gauge light came on today so chucked the heaters on full blast and cruised it the last mile home.

Firstly thought there'd might have been an air lock so bled the system. Still no fan kicking in when in should.

Checked engine bay fuses 2 and 4 both 30amps and not blown.

Have unplugged the fan switch and bridged the loom plug and the fan span.

So now the question is... Is my thermostat stuck shut or is my switch not working?

Cheers for any help.

Shannon

P.S. car is S2 rallye 16v

Stick a new thermostat in for how much they cost! If that doesn't cure it just put a switch in the car for the fan

Yeah that's what I was thinking of doing tbh. Not the cost so much its the effort of a thermostat lol. Car is on ebay and ends on thursday!

Is it possible that the relay has gone? If so how do I go about testing?

if you cant source one just take the thermostat out for now. The change of one is literally 5 minutes as you probably know, its the bleeding that take a bit of time.

I have bought both today and will fit both! If it sells on eBay I want the owner to be able to drive it back problem free!

If briding the wires on rad swithc make it work then its that rad switch
prsuming it is getting hot and not gauge telling stories --but if stood stll would expect fan to cut in 5-10mins and hose will feel hot to touch and you will not be able to hold on to it for long --
