Hey people!

I got a Citroen saxo 1.1 which has a k&n air filter, spoiler and exhaust with the name peco!

I am wondering how to make my car faster and more smoother.

Any advice would be great.

Fit a vts engine or,save up your NCB & get a more powerful car.

I don't want a new engine, I want to max out my 1.1 engine!

The ebay chips work well......

Or electric superchargers...

Short of turbocharging you already have. Even then a turbo 1.1 wont be much faster than a vtr

My car is quick to 80 then struggles but before when I had the standard air filter there was a fair amount of time for 100 mph and it would continue climbing.

Its my first car so I have no idea what excactly is speeding the car up? I am in the mindset of air flow.

Tbh it's a question a lot of new drivers ask, speaking frankly don't waste your time trying to make it quick.Have you also considered declaring all these mods to your insurer and watching the premium rocket?

It really isn't worth spending money on - you'd have to spend a fair bit to notice any real difference in speed. And it'll still be pretty shit.

Just wait for your insurance to go down and get more driving experience, then you can either buy something faster or 16v your saxo!

My insurance can be payed within 2 weeks wage. I want my 1.1 to be fast and feel smooth! Ofcourse I will buy a new car in the future but to see it at its best will be brilliant.

the best question is, is it the older SPI model or the post 2000 one with proper injectors?

as making a nice SPI model is pointless. it's proper old tech.

never found my 1.1 to be rough either. The VTR felt rougher!

yeah, TU1m is SPI, its very easy to tell, think about what they are called.

SINGLE point injection.

MULTI point injection.

spi is the older type.
