they do not use engine numbers --all goes onVIN Number
for what reason do you need this /
parts are by RP.no.--sticker inside drivers door

there are engine numbers and codes but easier to use the vin and look up on servicebox.

Im sure there's a thread on here that explains how to find everything out from VIN - paint code, engine etc
There's a plate in the boot and should be stamped in engine bay above inlet manifold?

My VTS has a plate on the front of the engine (belt side) with NFUXXXX (engine number) not sure if its similar on VTR

hope this helps :)

Isn't it on the back of the block? Tbh it'll probably be corroded and unreadable now.

Pretty sure anything pre 1999 didn't have a sticker. My mango didn't but the VTR did. On the mango the rpo and paint code was on the passenger side strut under the bonnet.

You can put the vin into servicebox for details but it doesn't give engine numbers

you are right
to start with iswas a4digit ocde painted onstrut top --then they changed to the door pillar --then to a sticker with 6 digits --but ignore first 2 how ever one wipe with thinners rag on strut top or sticker and its gone forever .LOL
so that why vin no. is what is used on service site -- but none of them will give you engine number --engine type is all you need for parts --thats why i asked what he needed to know for?
