I had my cam belt and water pump changed on my Furio two weeks back , on start up from cold it makes a whirring sound after a minute or two it is quiet after driving , if I turn off engine and start it again it is quiet ! , so only if it is left standing for a few hours the noise returns ! .
Anyone ?

cheers :y:

Maybe alternator. Take the fan belt off and start it up. If the whirring doesn't stop you need to take it back and tell the people who fitted the cam belt that your not happy and it sounds too tight!

Sounds like it might not be tight enough. Rubber expands when cold, shrinks when warm.

Yeah good point. If it was tight, would probably whirr constantly!

Could be thrust bearing in the clutch is on its way out, had this problem on my old vtr and that's what mine sounded like, does your clutch squeek when you push the pedal?

Hello mate , the clutch is fine , still have the noise its not got any worse clears up after a few minutes , mechanic up the road thinks it is the alternator on the way out , problem is when I drive it into the garage the car is noise free when I arrive ! .
