Hi there, new to this forum looking for advise. I'm looking at buying a Saxo furio 1.4 and need to know if anyone has any tuning suggestions. I need as much power as possible. I am planning on stripping it, brakes, suspension etc etc, before anyone suggests it.

Now before anyone say buy a vts there is a reason. A group of friends and I love our cars and love motorsport however we do not enjoy track days in our day to day cars (as a few particular friends sent the best drivers and like to use other cars as crash barriers). We are also very competitive so have decided all to buy a track car. We have decided to make it fair and set two rules:

1. Must be a 1.4
2. Must be under £250

This is why a vts or a vtr is not an option. So please what is your honest opinion. Most of the guys like the German cars like polo and seat Ibiza but I think the Saxo is the true winner with its weight, however I really want to win.

Cheers

a 1.4 106 xsi would fit the bill but your budget needs to be quadrupled. You could mod the furio with the head from a rallye or xsi however from those models however but what is your total budget?
After all you can make 160 bhp from the 1.4 8v TU but it'll cost you thousands.
Problem is with such a low purchase price you are very limited as to what you can buy and it has to be a 1400 right? No less

Just to add, a 1.1 gearbox on a 1.4 makes a difference, shorter ratios right?
