I've had my VTS for 2 years and up until last week always ran it on Shell (regular, not Optimax) because I thought it was not worth gambling on cheaper supermarket petrol. Last week I thought sod it, the car never really runs perfectly, Tesco was 3p a litre less (plus Clubcard points are worth more than Pluspoints!), I'm going to take a chance on Tesco petrol.
Guess what, it has definately been running better on Tesco petrol!
Anyone else got any thoughts/experiences on the different brands and supermarket fuel? Is supermarket fuel just as good as branded fuel now?

Ive used it in mine and it does not seem to last as long , i usually get about 330 miles to a tank and the tesco just makes 300 thats why i dont use it , as i travel bout 300 miles a week its not worth it

at about 310 the lights on but only just on it did 340 miles the other day cos I was on the M6 Toll and cud not fill up,
And your VTR should do more than 290 how many miles has it done?? My old VTR which was cammed, skimmed polished etc did more than that.

My VTS did 400 miles to a tank on the way to Germany. VTRs are no more economical. They are also slow

Thats a bit harsh the VTRs aint that slow, what fuel did you get 400 miles on and were you driving Miss Daisy?

i use either bp or morrisons, bp is about 400m from my house, and morrisons is around the same from the gfs house, get around 350 miles maybe a bit more in my vtr before the light comes on

for the fuel companies to maximise profit (and minimise overheads), they have a deal where they each use each others refinerys so for instance a BP refinery will deliver fuel usually to ALL the petrol stations within it's area, shells, essos, tesco's etc
Its the premium fuels that do special deliveries to their respective stations.
god knows why Tesco fuel is 'better', although i did hear that theirs is of a higher RON number... could be bollocks though

i always fill up at tesco, it is convenient and is the cheapest in Gainsborough plus i get my clubcard points so that is a bonus and i have never had a problem.

Some tescos do a 99 RON fuel, hence why Shell released the new V power or whatever its called to compete with it. Or at least thats a decent conclusion to draw from it:P
