Hey not been on here on a while had a test day with my vts at the weekend was was only my second outing with it with new engine with catcam708s colin satchill gsxr bodies with emerald managment..my last run my head started makeing a taping kinda rattle noise seems as if it's a cam follower started doing it on tick over now so going to replace them all any1 know where the cheapest place to get them from thanks

I used to run an engine on a particular oil that would become noisy when hot. Try fresh oil first before spending.

remove oil filler cap --can you smell petrol ?
if so--- your oil has been thinned by excessivefuelling --get the ecu tuned properly after changing oil + filter+ hope no permanent damage has been done
but start with oil change anyway 10w40

Hey changed oil tonight still got the noise but it doesn't do it on tick over now just when u Rev it up I didn't let the car warm up just ran it for a 20 seconds and then again for another 20 seconds we are 99 percent sure it's a hydrolic lifter but going to do a compression test this week aswell just to make sure..

It can take time for the thin oil in the lifters to get out of them if it was really pissy -run for a coupel of days +sniff the oil again --if you still smell petrol --change it again +get ecu fueling sorted--it wil kill the negine --pistons ,crank everything if its full of petrol

if its not smoking and runs ok --no point in doing comp check ,

Okay thanks for the advice much appreciated car was mapped on a rolling road buy a guy up my way am at the very top of Scotland he's an emerald dealer will let the car run tonight for a while to see if that helps I don't like running it with that noise comeing from it it's only doing it when u Rev it up now so maybe the fresh oil has helped it will let it run tonight and see
