Hi all I'm new to this site and was just looking for some advice i have been given a 1.4 auto saxo (before anyone gives me abuse about an auto I don't have feeling on my left side lol so I can't use a clutch anymore) and I'm going to be putting it through races with other autos

Anyway what I'm wanting to do is put a vtr engine in this with the auto box, is this actually possible? Or am I just dreaming

If it is possible what will I need for the conversion? I know I'm going to need better brakes and suspension

I know people have gotten autos quite fast as a lot of drag cars these days are autos and I want to see where I can get this to any comments or help is much appreciated cheers

the later saxo auto were 1.6 anyway --but performance was not much difference --so my advice is forget it
i was a citroen dealer

as to what you need to do --suspect its just a simple engine swop
not a job many if anyone will have ever done

Mk1's had a 1.6vtr engine in them, later one's had a 1.4 engine with the same auto box.If you think putting the 1.6 engine in is going to give you lots of performance then think again.Pulling away they're slow, once moving not too bad. They do benefit from an aftermarket exhaust though(not by much)

Cheers for the replys and I know I'm not going to get much more just from changing the engine alone I'm also going to be playing about a lot with it money is not really a problem at the min one other question I have is what about the ecu and loom? Will I need to change them or will the vtr engine plug straight in to what I've got. Or could I just get my ecu mapped to work better with the engine if that makes any sence cheers

If you have to have auto --then why not get a c2/c3 vtr with senso drive -or an auto honda jazz --they cheap and rev to the moon and quite quick when using the 6 speed paddle shift
better idea than trying to do something with what you got
you say money not a problem -- buy a BMW M5 auto then
LOL

You'd probably have to get the ecu remapped,as the auto model has it's rev limit set at 4500rpm.:drink:
