Hi i want to use diesel purge on my 2000 1.5D saxo as a preventative maintenance. Do i just disconnect the outlet from the fuel filter and put it in a can of diesel purge ? And do i have to block the fuel filter port from fuel flowing out of it ?

Or i can pull the fuse for the pump and connect the fuel filter outlet in a can of diesel purge? Which is the tank fuel pump fuse ?

Oh ok i didnt know, so i just put the outer fuel line from the fuel filter in the diesel cleaner? Then bleed the fuel system afterwards... I mean the fuel injector cleaner by diesel purge

I mean when you put the fuel filter line in a cleaning solution called diesel purge and the engine sucks that instead of diesel and cleans the injection pump and injectors directly instead of putting the cleaner in the tank

Do you know where is the diesel fuel return line to the tank on the 1.5d saxo?

Pointless. We Had a sample at the garage, we have 120 wagons in our fleet and there was no change at all. The only thing we have seen a drastic change with is forte diesel injector cleaner.

the whole idea of putting the cleaner in the tank is so it releases any build up of gunk in the tank --puts it in suspension and it is moved to the filter where it is trapped
so you use cleaner --then change fuel filter
if you have a buld up it will work
i have seen alot of improvement ,especially on electronic type injector cars that have been run constantly on supermarket cheap fuel
old style injectors like you have -- not so much
even seen it unblocking injectors and getting rid of misfires on electronic types that have done high mileage
Its my first suggestion if poor performance or bad running --presuming no fault codes --before going to more expensive options --like changing injectors
at ££15 its cheaper than spending time looking
full can in less than half a tank of fuel --

But you put in the tank or straight through the fuel lines? And where is the fuel return line on the 1.5D?

I wanted tp clean with purge as they say its very good for cleaning carbon deposits, you put it directly through the fuel lines so it cleans more. I am doing this just to remove deposits and prevent any problems in the future...

it will be burnt as you drive and crap will end up in fuel filter as all fuel goes through that
change filter that when you have used it and refilled your tank with normal diesel
