The VTS/Turbo machine was driving fine. Until out of the blue, it decided to cut out when on idle at some lights. It restarted OK.
A few miles later, it cut out again while in motion and refused to start. It cranks over and the fuel pump primes but will not fire.

I suspect it is either the coil pack or the crank sensor. I thought the coil pack would at least show some symptoms that it was on the way out... like a misfire or rough running? I guess the crank sensor would just be an instant cut out, if it it was at fault? which is what makes me think, it is at play.

All earths are fine, fuel is getting to the rail, no loose wires anywhere. It was fine up until today!

Coil pack or crank sensor do you think?

Does it by any chance stink of fuel?

Nope. Everything seems normal.

Have you got spark ? And are the injectors getting fuel through them ?

My money is on the flywheel sensor, if it's cutting out as if someone has turned the key off then... can only be that. Unless the ignition barrel is faulty?

Coil packs are just that, packs. it would be very very rare for both coils to die simultaneously AND the drivers in the ECU for them.
