someone help please.

i have my track car which is just a straight fuel like from pump to rail
then a return from rail back to pump.

put a pressure gauge on the rail and primed the car up

2bar max

so i put a brand new 4 bar fuel pressure regulator in

still 2 bar.

so i changed the fuel pump to a brand new one i have here.

still 2 bar.

there is no leaks anywhere.

any ideas

they are rated to 5 bar iirc, probably leaking in the tank from the short section of hose, or the gauge isn't reading accurately..

Check your gauge.

What's the fuel pressure when the car is actually running at idle?

The pressure will change if you disconnect and reconnect the vacuum pipe too.

Could be a small internal leak in the pump itself, or the gauge is faulty. I've done this myself and spent hours on looking at all the wrong things on an engine which had 2 adjustable pressure regs.

Gauge was showing 32Psi but the actual pressure was only 15...
