I'm considering moving the battery into the rear of the car. Can anybody offer any advice on this? Is it a simple task? What is required to do it? Longer battery wires obviously and maybe a battery box, but anything else?

I've shifted my battery behind the navigators seat, not sure if you can get onto the link below but if not my thread is titled 106 GTI track / sprint car build progress, I have some pics of my battery relocation that may be of assistance.

When you extend it, just use cable the same thickness. I used winch cable from ebay, iy was more than up to the job. multi stranded copper.
In the engine bay, I bought a large connector block and jointed the 3 cables where the +ve battery terminal used to be. You don't need to do anything with the -ve cable. You could remove it and run a separate cable from the gearbox earth to chassis earth.
Then in the rear you only need a short cable on the battery to ground it.

That's great, thanks Chaps. Expect I will be back with follow up questions once I get round to attempting it.
