right i have a annoyin problem :(

when im driving and i stop at traffic lights for example, when im braking, clutch down, the battery light comes on and the car cuts out ??

weird thing is the car starts straight away ? so i dont think it the spark plugs or ignition leads as these have been replaced very recently, i know my car needs an oil change, could that have something to do with it ?

it does it more when the cars cold, but did it about 3 times then on the way home from college :(

any ideas ?

cheers:)

Idle control valve might have something to do with it, letting the revs drop too low when u put the clutch in and not being able to recover quickly enough enough. Think thers quite a scope for things that can cause a problem like this!

Hopefully u will get alot of answers u can test cheaply!

take it down to the local garage, they wont charge you anything to have a look. i had that problem and turned out to be the speed idle control valve playign up, so your best off to take it down. some garages might not tell you what it is because they may click on that you can fix it yourself, if this is so try another garage :P

my ca rhas this problem and have tryed all of the above including the idle control valve which just proceeded to make things wors as the car stayed at 4k revs constantly, but now i have been told it could have something to do with the timing belt mine needs done anyway so jst trying to get the money together to try it and i will let yous know

ok mate :)

my dad reckons it might be because of my induction kit, the engine doesnt warm up quick enough like it would with the original filter and housing bits, so when the automatic choke goes off the engine isnt warm enough, therefore cutting out because it cant run properly ?
