Hi guys has any come across changing the starter motor on a mk1 saxo vts? How difficult is it or is it a garage job?
The more info the better :P

should be fairly easy diy job mate, take off the in;et manifold and that and get at it from the top or get sum ramps and get it from the bottom ive only ever changed them on a feista and a micra at college but ive seen the 1's on the sax and they look easy enough
give it a go mate, whats the worst that can happen you get it wrong and a garage or mobile mechanic will fix it, most people would pay sum1 anyway

I found mine quite difficult because there's not much room down there! Got 2 parts of wiring loom to contend with as well! Difficult for me because I'm impatient but if you're competent and patient and have some very small spanners it should be a doddle!

take the inlet off!!! do you reallize how hard that is!!! your best way is to get it on ramps mate. it is trick to undo a couple of thre bolts but you'll get there. get it on ramps. pop off your gear linkages and get someone with small hands as there aint much space mate!
