you got the right idea from what i know about it mate. it cleans the ports and smooths them up for better gas flow. have a look on hiflow heads website they have some info on there about it. is that 250 with you removing the head and sending it to them. ar are they taking your head off.

You will need new gasket and head bolts when you put it back on but its pretty easy.

your valves will be made bigger thus creating better air flow. you car will prob run better aswell. forget 8-10 bhp though, no chance

you get what you pay for imo so dont expect much. and bad porting can have a negative effect.

Valves wont be changed for £300. The holes to the valves will be smoothed out or make it easier for the gasses to flow.

Bigger valves costs way more.

not on a £250 port a polish, for £250 i would expect they woud:

* port match the inlet and exhaust ports
* Polish the inlet and exhaust ports

also posibly polish the cylinder tops to stop carbon buildup, putting bigger vlavles in cost alot as the ports have to be board out to fit and valve seat angles recut. personally i would only get the exhasut port polished and ported and the inlet just ported as on a normally asperated vehicle the rough walls inside the inlet port helps the turbulance adn fuel mixture, smoothing it out can have an adverse effect. i got a great pdf file about how to port and polsh yourself

thankyou cough.
it all depends how long its on the flow bench for. some companys do heads stating stage.3,4 or stage 5 heads or even big valve heads. the price just depends how much works been done, ie. how much is taken off as more takes longer. the price might be good aslong as thats what you want.
ask for flow results aswell

to get most out of it you will need to sling a cam in. maybe do it at the same time to save you money as the head has to come off to change cam. i would save a bit and do it at same time.
