Agrred. Piper X stuff is pap. BMC or Green enclosed are the ones I believe

Only interested cause i heard they were loud, not to bothered about performance.

Thats y i said pipercross, cos i gathered that u were after noise, but if ur after performace get an encloed kit

I was wondering that. If I wasn't arsed about performance I'd buy one of those gay 8 valve efforts. The VTtaRd or something ;)

No not really bothered becasue it flys as it is, just want a meaty induction sound. So think an open kit is the best way forward.

i think this green enclosed one i have now is fairly loud tbh....

If your looking for noise then an open filter will make more noise than an enclosed ram air because . . . its erm . . . enclosed funy enough :-)
I always was under the understanding that cotton filters (K&N, Green, Jetex etc) were always louder than a Foam filter (Pipercross) but alot of people here say foam is louder so take your pick, really not much to chooce between them really.
If your fittin a Cone why not take the chance to replace the 90o hose that links the airbox with the throttle body with a 90o silicone item. The OE is ribbed inside a silicone hose will be smoother inside aiddin airflow. Also why not ploish the inside of the throttle body while its all apart.
Like tesco's says "Every Little Helps" :-)
