Hi I was just wondering is it possilbe to fit a HDI engine of any size 1.4,1.6 , 2.0 litre into a saxo its just they are really good engines and with just a chip and intercooler would have some serious bhp.
Cheers

you could fit anything with the right cash, but the 1600 engine can also be tuned to great amounts aswell

Hey man.

I want to do this aswell after I've finished uni... I havent done any major research but the 1.6HDI might be a tad on the heavy side (again I need to check these figures out nearer the time).

Depending on the version of the HDI you go for there are:
1.4 8v 70hp
1.4 16v 92hp
1.6 8v ???
1.6 16v 110hp
2.0 8v 110hp
2.0 16v 136hp

there also is a 2.2 but there is no way in hell it'll fit.

Out of those the 16v's already have an intercooler and the 1.6 and 2.0 8v's too.

I'm wittled my list down to 1.4 16v, 1.6 8v and 1.6 16v.
with a super chip we're looking at 30% more power which even on the 1.4 would give it around 115hp. and a mooooosive amount of torque.

I used to own a c3 (mother has it) so when im next at home I'm going to start gathering dimensions.

good luck man and let us know how you get on :Y:

Do the HDI units use the BSI ecu? Also what gearbox do they use and you would need to custom fabricate some driveshafts and engine mounts im sure

different gearbox and sagem ecu I believe.

as long as its not that motherfucking BSI cunter that fucks everything up then a bit of loom choppage should suffice.

Still going to need those shafts and mounts though
