21st October took my little saxo to http://www.motorscope.co.uk/ which is my local Dyno Centre.

Didn't get any graphs or anything as there just about to take the 2wd rollers out, and replace with a 4wd set of rollers.

heres the results,

4000rpm 65 bhp
4500rpm 75 bhp
5000rpm 88 bhp
5500rpm 98 bhp
6000rpm 108bhp
6500rpm 108bhp

Them results are at the wheels, with VTR rims.

Rough Figure of 140bhp at the flywheel.

Mods are 4-2-1 Manifold, Supersprint Centre section and a K&N Filter.

There was a GTi forum meeting there two weeks ago, and the 106's where only getting around 90-95bhp at the wheels, and they supposedley had quite abit of work done to them, so quite pleased actually!!

Sounds all gd from here, youve managed 20bhp from 4-2-1 Manifold, Supersprint Centre section and a K&N Filter, Impressed

Why not?

r/roads can be made to read what the operator wants them to read very easily. proper dyno figs (ie engine out) is the only 100% true way to get an engine's horsepower reading as there are no transmission losses to take into account and therefor no guesswork as to calculating the percentage transmission loss.
figure is a bit high to be honest so like williams says i would take it with a pinch of salt :)

I see :P

how do you know they are accurate? different rollers will give you different results.
when my engine had just exhasut mani and filter i got 134hp on 1 set of rolers and 163hp on another. with same spec.............

lol, he had this control thing with some nobs on, im sure they altered the resistance of the rollers or something.

Thought it was brill mate. We'll see when the 4wd rollers come in, because i'll be giong back on them for graphs and all kind.

is it quicker than most other similarly modded 16vs? havn't tried racing other cars to see.

I had a mobile one done and it was shocking! lol.... 64hp atf! thats almost half the power yet it'll time 0-60 in 8.2?!.... I'm sure he saw the 1.1 badge and just invented a graph as the 1.1 ax engine is 60hp standard... he said it was all down to airflow when I said the engine runs 100 standard... bollocks lol... anyway as for static r/r's, results are better with them generally but all sorts of things can have an effect on the result, tyre pressure, condition of running gear, atmospheric conditions (i.e, hot or a wind blowing into the garage), age of rollers, computer system used.....etc, etc, etc.....

Thats why your profile says saxo vts 154bhp lol ;)

154 at the fly, take 20% of that and see what you get

s60tsy
23rd October 2006, 22:13
1.54 x 80 = 123.2

lol who said the transmission loss was 20% ;) no way of knowing what it is unless you take the engine out then put it on a dyno. in other words, r/road figures are :homme: pinch and salt come to mind....

s60tsy
23rd October 2006, 23:32
well all ive heard is between 20% and 30% so i picked 20. only an approximate guess, sorry if i offended you with my innacurate figures

s60tsy
23rd October 2006, 23:37
better than saying 175bhp

Ax_beefy
24th October 2006, 00:36

your on :P my kames time was 100.29 dave.

CampDavid
25th October 2006, 08:00
Mine was 100.9 I think. With Brian in the car

98 or 99 without. You'll need to be quicker to beat me son ;)

(comparing times at tracks like the Nurburgring will lead to you and your car both dying badly!)

williamsvts
25th October 2006, 08:02
that 98-99 is a guess figure :P

i was quicker :P

CampDavid
25th October 2006, 08:24
Bollocks you were quicker. Falcus was about 0.2 faster than me over three laps on his last run. He looked like he was about to bin it though!

We all got our arses handed to us by Neil H. ze boy was a touch schnell

williamsvts
25th October 2006, 08:28

williamsvts
25th October 2006, 08:40
Falcus was about 0.2 faster than me

and he was only 0.04 faster than me.
