I’m having an over haul of my fuelling system in an attempt to resolve a few issues I’ve been having lately.
The plan is fit a GMC 4.5bar FPR I hopefully have one lined up for £45 delivered.
I’m going to keep the standard filter I’ll just replace it with a new one and maybe run some of that Redex stuff through. I’m also leaving the injectors alone.
Now this is where I need your help…..
I want to upgrade the fuel pump whilst I’m messing about but I’m unsure which one to get or where to get it from. Back in my GT days the upgrade of choice was the Walbro but I can’t seem to find these for a Saxo.
Demon Tweeks do sell them but I wanted a few options to compare as DT can be over priced.
I also want a Motorsport/fast road pump this may be a bit lavish but it cant hurt anything.
Mucho Gracias.

the standard pump is fine for charged engines aint it, ive heard of people turbo'g ford using two fuel pumps or uprated 1's but never on a sax and ive been doing alot of research while being bored at work lol
what problems does it have with it? if it is fueling problems have you tryed a new fuel filter as we all know hte saxo 1 getts clogged up easy

The problems are that the car is running lean top end as identified by the geezer at the rolling road who advised that I should uprate my old vtr pump.
I'm making a piss poor amount of power due to this problem so I'm rather keen to sort it out.

fit in an AFR, can pick one up on ebay for cheap.
See if it is runing lean? Might have been a 1 off on the RR?
If its lean over specific ranges doesnt this have implications for the coil pack too?

Thats a good idea and I dont know about the coilpack but its only cover 24k, I would have hoped it was good for a few more miles?

if your fitting a new FPR and fuel pump dont you need to fit a new fuel rail as it wont be able to cope as it is a constant 2.5 pressure?
as said above something does affect the coil pack just cant remember exactly

I've never heard anyone say they've upgraded the fuel rail or seen was advertised but I get what your saying.
Can anyone shed some light on the coilpack theory?

Have a look on Citunings website. They can sort you out with a group n unit at a decent price. I've got one on mine from when I bought the car so I don't know how they compare to a standard pump
