wheels are a personal preferance, so choose your own man, i bet you don't let people choose you shoes for you!? well to be honest how much are you willing to spend to make it go faster and how much faster do you wanna make it go??

strip the interior, personally wouldn't go any further than an enclosed filter and an exhaust on a 1.4, if you want to go faster then buy a faster car or transplant a vtr/vts engine in.

for more power what you need to remember is air in as cold and quick as possible and exhaust gases combusted and thrown out soon as!!! cams ernier pulley etc... the list goes on

Easiest and cheapest way to go faster is to strip the interior out.
After that invest in some good quality suspension and brakes - this will let you hande better and brake later (equivalent to having an extra 30bhp in some cases)
Then I would start on the engine mods - exhaust, induction and that's about if for your engine without spending loads.
This way, if you sort out the handling etc you have the option of transplanting a bigger engine from a vtr/s. Ultimately this is the cheapest way of getting big power gains

but this is the way to realy make up for your need for speed

as above
rip out interior, light wheels, zorst system, inclosed induction kit, re-map.
to be onest theres not much point in doing it to a 1.4 beter going for a conversion for a real difference

As above really, Airfilter and Exhaust will let some pony's out but the noise will make it seem faster than it is (which is ok), put the car on a diet this will also help perfomance and handling (Thats why fat people cant run round courners) after that stylin and like wheels is a personal choice.
Wouldnt really go beyond simple bolt on tuning as at the end of the day its still a 1.4ltr so have some fun, learn about what will work and what wount then take it from there :-) Good luck

cant really add anymore...
loose weight
look at proper engine mods... choosing these carefully will yield some noticable results
lighter alloys (14's 15's)

Its a 1400 your going to spend loads of money and only be as fast as a 1600 so you probs better gettin a new engine 1600 16v, 120hp for around 600quid off egay.
