i was gonna maybe buy a vts, but the garage has just told me they are gonna auction it because it was a bit fooked. they told me the head gasket was leaking. just wondering how easy that would be to fix really.

Its not a take off an put on job for any old noddy. You need to know what your doing. what damage has been caused and the head will need skimmed

they know alot of people will be put off by the fact it needs work, plus its more likely to be sold at an auction because mechanics etc go to pick up cars like that regularly

if your handy with spanners and can get the head skimmed in 1 day you can have it fixed in a day.

headgaskettes are peice of piss on a vts, i am making a guide at the moment showing u how to do vts timing belts and head gaskette. you might be able to get away without getting the head skimmed but while its off its definatly worth gettign done if you can and only costs around £30. look out for my guide when i eventually post it
