... for a Mk2 VTR. I know a lot of this will be down to personal preference, but I'd like to get other people's opinions anyway.
Both have the same 3.5" tailpipe design it seems, and while I'm leaning towards the Magnex, that silencer looks huge from the back which is putting me off a bit.
So, what do you guys think? :)

Think they both sound roughly the same so it's down to performance and looks. Most people say Magnex offers best performance, but as you have said Magnex have a huge backbox which isn't the best if you have your car lowered. SO it's up to you. I have a Magnex and it's fine, although I do think now that Scorpion look a bit better with the smaller backbox.

alot of peeps have magnex but there build quality are suposed to be shiet, Scorpion are spot on i have a Scorpion 3.5" Duplex build quality is great but both Magnex and Scorpion are quiet compared to the likes of Piper and custom

Yeah I don't want it too loud which is why I've narrowed it down to Magnex or Scorpion, from searching around here a lot of people seem to think Magnex is the one to have, but yeah like I said, that huge ass backbox is putting my off Magnex a bit. ;)

I have a magnex and think it sounds mint not to loud and not to quite and when your on the motorway it aint that loud which for me is the deal braker as i travel on motorway everyday. However i do like scorpians as they sound mint louder than a magnex and they look nice i'm not that happy with how my magnex looks sticks out abit to far.

Scorpion and Magnex sound similar, build quality on the Scoprion is better and i think Scorpion have a larger selection of designs, its taken my exhaust since March to bed in properly sounds nice now

I have just fitted a Magnex and love the sound despite it not being very loud which is a bonus in my eyes. The back box is huge though and as my car is quite low its catches on everything higher than a double yellow line.

There are a few pics and ropey video’s in my thread (ets2k9’s Saxo).

The magnex is really well made but I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Personally I do not like the Magnex system for the Saxo as the rear silencer is FAR to big and spoils the look of the car, Ive noticed the same on the Mk5 Fiesta Zetec-S as well.

Out of the two Id go for Scorpion, but if your looking for a quite performance system what about Janspeed? Around the same price and not much between the tailpipes either

Scorpion for sure. The backbox looks alot better than a Magnex and sit higher up. Sound perfect when de-catted.

Are janspeed anygood though? Magnex have prooved their quality on quite a few cars now.

Mines a Mild Steel system and is joined to a Janspeed Sports Cat and Janspeed Manifold, had the itmes on the car for well over 8months now, No knocking, No Rattling although MoT station did say the joins where blowin abit but was common on systems such as this. Wether this is true or not who know but apart from being quite (like most performnace exhausts for the saxo) it performs well. I think few other people on here are running Janspeeds but the newer Stainless Steel ones but sure they are the same exhaust just in different materials :p

Does anyone have pics of a scorpion on a saxo? With a round tip.

Thanks for all the help. I did look at Janspeed but ruled it out because from what I've read around here it doesn't sound like it was quite up to the same standard as Magnex or Scorpion.

Magnex is the common choice for the saxo as it looks and sounds nice, I like scorpion exhausts personally.

I have a maxgnex backbox and i like the sound i get out of it. nowt wrong with showing a bit chrome off from the back if you keep it clean. my brother in-law has a 4" scorpion on his with a race middle section and its just to loud. it sounds good and pops but on long journeys it just drowns.

here is what nine look slike from the back.
