can anyone tell me how much i would be looking to pay to get my 1.0 chipped? (i'm assuming it can be done to a 1.0?)
also, which chips are best? i dont know anything about them, but i've heard of dastek and superchips i think?
how do they improve performance, and how do they acheive the improvement in performance?
cheers, matt

There is little point in chipping a 1.0L car as the benifits will be minimal.</font>
Typically a chip (Super chips) will increase the BHP by about 4-6BHP. the cost of a superchip including fitting is about £250. GMC do a better chip which is £300 called the dastek not sure how much more power you will get, about 4-6BHP again. a chip works by remapping your fuel, ignition timing, etc to create more power. I have a chip and cant really see any improvment except the car revs higher, only worth doing if you are carrying out other engine mods such as cams, port polishing, etc
personally i would save the money towards an engine conversion and get a 1.4i or VTR engine put in cos nothing beats increasing the CC of an engine.
